Terms.

Last updated: October 12, 2026

I run CoralTicker by myself. These are the rules for using it. They're short on purpose. By making an account or signing up for the digest, you agree to these terms. Using the site at all, signed in or not, means you accept them too.

Questions go to coralticker@gmail.com. On this page, "I" means the person who runs CoralTicker.

What CoralTicker is

CoralTicker reads coral vendors' public stock pages, collects the listings and prices, and shows them in one place. I don't sell corals. When you buy, you buy from the vendor, on the vendor's site, under the vendor's terms.

Prices and stock come from the vendors and change between checks. I work to keep them right, but a listing here can be out of date or wrong. The vendor's own page is the one that counts.

Accounts

Listings, prices and price histories need an account. One account is for one person.

Reading is limited per account. I set the limits, can change them at any time without notice, and can set different limits for different accounts. Staying under a limit doesn't make a forbidden use allowed.

Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what's done with your account.

What you can't do

The listings, prices, price histories and the matching of listings to corals on CoralTicker took a long time to collect and build, and they are what the site is. You can use them on the site, under these terms. So:

Search engines may index the public pages as robots.txt allows. That permission covers indexing for search, not collecting listings or prices. It belongs to the search engine's operator, not to anything that claims to be one, and I can withdraw it from any crawler at any time.

This doesn't stop you mentioning a price you saw, by hand, in a conversation or forum post about a coral you're shopping for. Anything automated, repeated or gathered into a list isn't that.

I use technical measures to detect automated reading and to trace copied data back to the account it came from. Breaking these rules does harm that money can't easily repair, so I can ask a court to order you to stop, on top of anything else the law allows. If I have to go to court to enforce these rules and I win, you pay my reasonable lawyer's fees and costs.

Ending an account

You can delete your account whenever you like, from the account page.

I can limit, suspend or end any account at any time, including when I believe it is being used against these terms, and I don't have to give a reason first. When I end an account, your permission to use CoralTicker ends with it, signed in or not, and you may not make another account or use someone else's without my written permission.

Paying

CoralTicker is free. There is nothing to buy today. If I add a paid plan, I'll update these terms with its price, how it renews and how cancelling and refunds work before anyone can pay for it.

No promises beyond these

I run the site as it is. It may be slow, down or wrong sometimes, and the digest can arrive late or not at all. As far as the law allows, CoralTicker isn't liable for a coral you missed, a price that changed or a purchase you made from a vendor.

Changes

I can change these terms by updating this page and the date at the top. Changes take effect when they're posted. Limits and rules against misuse can change at any time.

These terms are governed by Maryland law, and any dispute about them goes to the state courts in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, or the federal court for the District of Maryland. These rules keep applying after your account ends.
